Fire Resistant

Even safety glass – toughened, laminated or reinforced – is not enough to stop the fire from spreading and it breaks down in the first few minutes. Ordinary glass breaks in a fire within the first 3-4 minutes, when the temperature rises to 450°C and reaches the stability limit of ordinary glass, and a difference of more than 35°C in the sheet of glass occurs. Only special fire-resistant glasses can contain the fire.

According to the European standard EN 13501-2, building elements are classified according to their fire resistance into three classes – E, EW and EI.

Class E

These glasses stops flames, smoke and other products of combustion for a certain period of time but do not prevent the spread of heat.

Class EW

Higher-class glass capable of containing flames, smoke and other products of combustion and partially limiting the spread of heat. Thermal radiation shall not exceed a specified level of max. 15 kW/m2.

Class EI

Premium glass that contains flames, smoke, other combustion products and heat. The temperature on the opposite side of the glass to the fire shall not exceed 140°C for a specified period of time. The design of these glasses ensures that the glass is effective in a fire – when the toughened glass breaks, the energy-absorbing fire gel between the panes starts to work and becomes opaque when exposed to the temperature, creating a reliable barrier to the spread of fire.

Benefits

Fireblock, Vetroflam, Contraflam, Pyroswiss are the main products that can be combined with different glasses. The manufacturer guarantees the integrity of the product from 30 to 120 min, depending on which product you choose.

Application

All of these fire resistant glasses can have a full range of other features, such as solar and sound control, privacy.

Benefits

It is a heat-resistant glass with a polished surface on both sides and a metal micro-layer on one side. The glass is used to glaze fireplace doors and is therefore also called fireplace glass.

The heat reflective layer contains the heat inside the fireplace or stove, resulting in a higher combustion temperature, which improves the performance of fireplaces and stoves with a water circuit. Glass ceramics are much slower to rust because the glass heats up faster and does not attract soot, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful sight of burning wood for longer. It is a popular product that meets the ever increasing demands of fireplace manufacturers and buyers. It is a heat-resistant glass capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 650°C, with no fear of temperature fluctuations and a near-zero coefficient of expansion. The heat-reflective ceramic glass is mounted with the metallised surface facing the outside of the fireplace or stove. Heat-reflective ceramic glass does not contain any toxic substances and is environmentally friendly.

The maximum dimensions of glass ceramics can be 2000 mm x 1100mm.
