This glass is manufactured by coating the glass with transparent, photocatalytic and hydrophilic mineral coatings. The mechanical, thermal and acoustic properties of the glass are identical to ordinary glass!

Easy-care glass works by using UV rays and water (rain) to effectively remove accumulated dirt and impurities (dirty rain marks, atmospheric pollutants, dust, resin and insect debris) from the outer surface of the glass. The more exposure to sunlight and rain the glass receives during its lifetime, the cleaner it will stay. However, there are many more factors in the environment – environmental pollution and atmospheric conditions – that affect glass over time and need to be cleaned naturally. The time it takes to activate the coating depends on the time of year, the position of the glass, etc., but on average it takes one week.

Application

Easy-care glass is designed for use on the exterior of buildings in both the residential and commercial sectors, as well as in the construction of new buildings or the renovation of old ones.

Glass can be used for:

• Can be used in ambient conditions, even in highly polluted areas (industrial districts or airport area).

The ever-tightening requirements for the thermal performance of windows have challenged the glass industry to find a way to prevent condensation on the outer surface of a double-glazed unit without compromising the overall transparency of the glass unit. The unique solution of an external glass with a anti-condensation coating is exactly the product that modern double-glazed units with particularly good thermal performance need to avoid condensation on the outer pane. The coating of this glass is completely neutral, so that natural light can enter the interior to the maximum extent.

When operating a double-glazed unit, condensation can occur on the outer surface of the glass for more than 100 days per year (depending on local temperature and relative humidity). Anti-condensation glass can significantly reduce this phenomenon to a few times a year.

Application

Anti-condensation coating is mostly used for:

• Windows of residential housing, skylights, conservatories.
• Facades of commercial buildings, wide windows.
